Christmas Flowers Gifts Blog
Christmas: flowers, gifts, trees, family. Christmas is gifts and trees to many, but family, friends, sparkle, parties, children and has great religious significance to others. Love the cheap highly flammable perfume from Auntie or the socks your granny knitted that come to your armpits or not - You gotta love Christmas!Permanent link: Grinch Stole Christmas
Grinch Stole Christmas
Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a recent movie that has been enjoyed by the latest generation. Those of us who grew up with Dr. Seuss and his works have certainly enjoyed this movie adaptation of his story. Jim Carey gives an excellent performance as the Grinch. Home Alone. One of the most funny and delightful Christmas movies made in the last few years. 8-year-old Kevin is accidentally left behind when his family goes on Christmas vacation. He is left to take charge of protecting his house against would be burglars. His wild booby traps and innovative antics are funny. Home Alone has sequels but the first one is my personal favourite. Elf is another current movie, released in the last couple of years. Buddy the adorable adopted elf is innocent, funny, and completely charming. His steadfast belief in Christmas and Santa Clause will make you laugh out loud. The Santa Clause with Tim Allen as single Dad Scott and his son Charlie hears funny noises coming from the roof. Santa is startled accidentally by Tim Allen's character and the result is Santa falls off the roof. Talked into putting on the Santa suit by his son, they finish the toy delivery and return to the North Pole. Bernard the elf then informs Scott that by putting on the suit, he has accepted the job as the new Santa Claus. The results are hilariously funny and touching at the same time. The Santa Clause 2: The Mrs. Clause is the sequel to the first movie and learns to his regret that he has to find a wife by Christmas Eve to remain Santa Claus. A toy Santa is put in charge of the North Pole and Scott returns to his regular human form to help his son Charlie who is having problems in High School and to find a wife. This movie is every bit as good as the first one. I love them both. The Muppet Christmas Carol- A hilarious version of the tale of Scrooge, with the comic addition, of talking rats AND Gonzo and his performing chickens. Not to mention a rather glamorous pigJ and a smart frog! If you are having a hard time getting into the Christmas Spirit, pull one of these movies off the shelf and sit down ready to have a good laugh. They will remind you of the happy times and get you ready for the Holiday season to come. Technorati Tags: Muppet Christmas Carol-Christmas MoviesPosted by Admin at 2008-09-24 16:21, Post Link

Jazz up your Christmas Tree
Your tree can be jazzed up too by purchasing a few inexpensive copper coated cookie cutters, and adding a bow and gold hook to hang. While you're at it take some time to find some red and green floral sticks, and tie a bow around the top. Secure with wire and place them in the front of your plants. Coffee table tops and end tables are very easy to decorate, but just make sure that there is plenty of room if the area is heavily used. Buy some inexpensive graduated stemmed heavy cut glasses, and fill them with either colourful candies or nuts. Often many people prefer a choice of both because salty nuts off set the highly sugared taste of the candy. Don't forget to wrap with a tiny bow on the stems. Collections such as old world Santa's or nativity scenes can be new or old, and placed on a shelf or mantle piece for effect. Other types of Santa displays that are popular are the nested Santa's which are famous in certain European countries. Kids really love to look and play with these. An original or imitation milk bottle can be cleaned and painted, and faux cookies can be left out for Santa to eat on his way out. Place anywhere there is not any heavy hand traffic, just to prevent accidents. Technorati Tags: Jazz up your Christmas TreePosted by Admin at 2008-09-24 16:19, Post Link

While you're digging around through your long forgotten stuff take note of not only old Christmas set outs and ornaments, but pull out some toys too. Nothing can be more charming than proudly displaying around your tree a train set from long ago. If it doesn't run, tinker with it until it does. If all is lost let it set stationary for you to enjoy. Dolls are another thing to decorate with, and they are very charming placed in a high backed chair or highchair, with larger presents stacked around their feet and miniature gifts on the tray. Old board games and other items such as metal spinning tops will fill the void under a tree, or even extenuate the types of papers on the all ready wrapped gifts. If your lucky enough to find your families old stockings, spice them up by adding miniature bells and glitter paint their names on the front. If you are thinking about buying your special someone clothes, please reconsider that idea. Do not buy her clothes. Men may think they have a good fashion sense, and some of them do. But in all reality, you have no clue as to what a woman finds fashionable or her tastes. If you give her clothes, she will probably show appreciation, but do not ever expect her to wear the clothes anywhere. Many men get carried away, with gifts of black leather mini skirts and fishnet stockings...hmm who's this gift for-her or you? lol You should never underestimate the power of presentation. Go to a nice shop where someone will wrap that perfect gift up for you, once you find it. Always remember, duct tape is not acceptable, and plastic grocery bags do not make good gift bags. If you hire someone to wrap that perfect gift, you are sure to put a smile on her face. Last but certainly not least, listen to your partner. Women are constantly dropping very detailed hints about what they want for Christmas.
